Our Story
Jwalker Sober Living was founded by Daniel Poulsen, and our Intensive Outpatient with Co-founder Mallory Bowen.
Our Story:
The reason for the JWalker name came from a story in the Big Book about an alcoholic man who would continually walk into traffic knowing it was dangerous and even deadly. We have often thought of addiction in this way. All of us at times through our addictions have continually put ourselves in great bodily harm in order to fulfill the addiction within us, and change the way we felt at the time. We logically knew the dangers in our life choices, but once the chains of addiction had taken hold, we were unable to stop the dangerous actions of that internal and painful walk into traffic. We had lost our choices.

The JWalker Mens Sober Living & Intensive Outpatient is a safe place where men can practice that fabled crossing the road of life, where they may take the skills learned in their recovery to choose the safe and healthy crosswalk into a life beyond what they can imagine for themselves.

We not only work tirelessly to provide a crosswalk for every man in our care, we are involved at every level of the recovery process to offer the structure and care needed on the crosswalk of recovery.
We at JWalker look forward to meeting you and cheering you on in your journey.
